SCHEDULE 8:00am to 8:30am -- Prayer service with communion A service of Word and Sacrament, this service will not have music but will contain the liturgy, prayers, readings, and sermon used at that 9:00am service. Communion will be blessed at the end of the service and served to worshipers near the main entrance of the building as they exit. We ask that all worshipers wear facemasks the entire time they are in the building and maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from others. In order to limit our numbers to a safe level, attendees also must register beforehand. Ushers will ensure that the pews are wiped down with disinfectant following the service.
9:00am to 9:45am – worship service with communion Broadcast on the radio and livestreamed across our platforms, this service will be similar to what we are currently doing. Music will be offered either by video or instrumental live. There will be no congregational singing or responses at this time in order to limit the aerosols in the air.
10:15 to 10:45am -- “walk-in” communion and prayer This service is for those who are unable to wear a mask or uncomfortable with being in the building for thirty minutes. Our communion station is set up at the main entrance to the building. Pastor Ron will be there (wearing a mask and behind the table) to meet anyone who wishes to simply receive communion and leave. We ask that you keep a six foot physical distance from others in the building during this time. Pastor Ron is available for personal prayer at this time as well.
LET US KNOW YOU ARE COMING – The 8:00am and 9:00am services are reserved seating only, permitting a max of 15 family units at each service. It does not matter if you are 1 person or 6 people, if you live under the same roof and will sit next to each other then you are considered a family unit. This will allow us to maximize our seating while maintaining physical distancing. Registration opens on Mondays and closes on Thursdays each week. You can register either here or by contacting the church office. Registration is strictly a first come, first served process. If a person tests positive for COVID-19 and attends a worship service, the names and contact information will be shared with contact tracing.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING – We will strive to at all times maintain a safe distance of 6 feet between other family units. The pews will be roped off to guide worshipers to sit every-other pew. Smaller family units will sit at opposite ends of the pew, while larger family units may take up the entire pew.
FACEMASKS – Because the virus is spread through the air, we ask that all participants bring a facemask to wear while in the building at all times. Thanks to a group of wonderful people, we have a supply of disposable masks as well as cloth masks for members to use (and keep!) if they show up without a mask. The only exception to this rule is the 10:15am “walk-in” communion service.
CONSIDER NOT ATTENDING IN PERSON – At this time FLC Leadership feels the risk in Barron is low enough to offer in person worship options, however, the BCHHS considers our County to be at medium risk, and we also see the increasing COVID numbers happening in other States and counties near us. Please consider your own personal risks. If you have health conditions that put you at high risk for infection, illness, or death please consider staying home. Likewise, be considerate of others. If you have come into contact with anyone that is sick we ask that you refrain from attending in person events for the stated 2 weeks. Also, if you have any symptoms of illness, even if you think it may be only allergies, we ask that you stay home and join us for worship via livestream.
CLEANING - The building will continue to be cleaned by our Facilities Maintenance Coordinator. In addition to our regular cleaning, staff will disinfect touch surfaces when they are present in the building. On Sunday mornings volunteers will assist in disinfecting the sanctuary and touch surfaces between each worship service.
OFFERING will be collected in plates located at the back of the sanctuary.
BUSY BAGS will be made available for each worship service. Kids are an important part of our ministry at FLC. Our current plan includes using envelopes that will contain prepackaged crayons and color sheets. We ask that families take the color sheets and crayons home with them.
COMMUNION will be served at all worship services. The 8:00am and 9:00am worship services will conclude with Pastor Ron blessing the elements. Worshipers will end the service by processing out of the sanctuary at the direction of the ushers. Communion will be distributed near the main entrance of the church building. While waiting in procession, please maintain 6 feet physical distancing. We also ask worshipers to keep their mask on until they are about to receive communion. Immediately after receiving communion proceed outside of the building.
BUILDING RESTRICTIONS - Restrooms will be available for emergent needs only. - Access to the Education building, Nursery, Centennial Room, and Library access will be restricted. - Balcony seating will be restricted. - All pew pads, folding chairs, Bibles, Hymnals, and other paper and non-hard surfaces have been removed from the sanctuary. - Entrance/Exit is limited to the Main Entrance only.
