ALTAR GUILD
When serving on Altar Guild, we are serving our Lord and the church by caring for the altar and the ceremonial aspects of our church services. We keep the Chancel area in good order, prepare for Holy Communion, change banners and paraments, and clean Communion vessels, linens and acolyte robes.
Communion – Communion will be served by intinction every Sunday. Pictures of the communion set-up can be found on the cupboard door in the Sacristy.
Disposing of Blessed Wine – Wine that has not been used or blessed (any wine that was not on the altar) can be poured back into the wine bottle. Any wine not used and on the altar has been blessed and should be poured on the ground outside.
Laundering Linens – Please remember to check the Altar linens and Communion linens for wine stains, etc. and launder as necessary.
Dust all furniture, organ and piano top, lectern, pulpit, railings, etc. weekly. Please remember to wear gloves when handling brass items. Vacuum the Altar area if needed.
A complete list of Altar Guild duties can be found in the Sacristy.
