Lutheran World Relief
Fair Trade Coffee Sales
The reason our W/ELCA sells Fair Trade Coffee is because Lutheran World Relief works with small scale farmers around the world to improve the quality, yield and value of crops so that they earn more income to support their families and communities. A portion of your purchases from the LWR Coffee Project benefit the LWR Small Farmer Fund helping them to continue their work.
So if you need coffee, tea or chocolate you may purchase it from our W/ELCA Cupboard at the bottom of the stairs in Luther Hall.
Just know that your purchase will be helping small farmers all over the world.
Quilting:
Imagine the comfort that comes from a hug at the time when you need it most. That’s the feeling we can share with an LWR Quilt. Through a simple combination of fabric and thread, we can reach out to people in their time of greatest need with a strong message of hope — you are not alone.
First and foremost, recipients use their LWR Quilts to shield against the cold and rain, and for warm bedding. But their versatility also makes Quilts useful as simple tents, floor coverings, or a wrap to hold a baby on a mother’s back.
Our Quilters meet at the church every Thursday during the months of January through April and September through November. Quilting begins at 1:00 pm. No experience is needed. If you aren’t able to attend, please consider a financial donation to help defray costs.
Project Promise – Building Kits of Care.
As needs increase around the world, requests are also on the rise. Our quilts and kits are urgently needed. Working together we can strengthen fellowship within our own congregation, serve as faith witness to our community and bring us closer to people in need, often in their darkest hour. The work of our hearts and hands is an immeasurable blessing to families around the world.
